Boat Bow Cap
This is the middle of building a cap for the bow of my stepdad's boat. This one ended up being slightly the wrong angle but the profile fit perfectly other than that.
Next, I'll try and cast it into a metal or maybe some type of resin.
Hard Airlines
Spent a weekend running 7 drops around the shop. I decided to use a system from Rapid air and it was really easy to install.
Molds for molds for molds for molds....
I'm in the process of making an injection molded part and these are some of the many steps of avoiding machining aluminum.
The gray pieces are resin printed and I'm making a silicone mold of them because the melt temp of the resin is too high to melt out of a ceramic mold.
The steps are: print resin positive (of negative injection mold), silicone negative of resin positive, pour hard wax into silicone mold to make a wax positive, then dip wax positive in ceramic slurry to encase it in ceramic, after firing the mold to bisque the wax is gone and then replace it with molten aluminum.
It has a lot of steps but the end result is worth it....?
